TrueRev is run by Jay Mehta, an individual based in India. This policy explains what personal data the site collects and what happens to it. Questions or requests go to jaymehta002@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Account data: your email, name, username and any profile details you add, such as a bio, website, LinkedIn or X handle.
- Content you submit: products, descriptions, images, comments, messages to founders and reports.
- Activity: upvotes and follows, tied to your account so each person counts once.
- Usage statistics: page views, product views, outbound clicks and searches. We store a salted hash that changes daily instead of your IP address or browser details, and we don't track you across other sites. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, we don't record your searches.
- Abuse prevention: a one-way hash of your IP address, never the address itself, to spot fake votes and spam.
- Stripe keys (founders): restricted, read-only keys, encrypted before they're stored and used only to calculate revenue totals. We keep the totals, not your customers or transactions.
- Payments: when you buy a placement, our payment provider tells us the status and amount. We never see your card details.
Cookies
We only use the cookies needed to keep you signed in. There are no advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
How we use it
To run the site: show products, verify revenue, deliver messages and notifications, stop spam and abuse, and process paid placements. We don't sell personal data and we don't use it for advertising.
Public information
Your profile, the products you publish, their revenue figures and your comments are public. If you add an X handle, we fetch your public follower count and may load your public X profile picture to show on the Stats page.
Retention
- Daily view records used to avoid double counting are deleted after 90 days.
- Individual usage events are deleted after about 13 months. Daily totals are kept.
- Rate-limit records are deleted after a day.
- Payment records are kept as long as the law requires for accounting.
- Everything else is kept until you delete it or ask us to delete your account.
Your rights
You can edit your profile, delete your products and disconnect Stripe from your dashboard at any time. To get a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account, email jaymehta002@gmail.com from the address on your account. We reply within 30 days.
Services we use
These providers process data on our behalf, only to run the site:
- Supabase: database, sign-in and file storage.
- Google: only if you choose “Continue with Google”. We receive your name, email and profile picture, never your Google password.
- Vercel: hosting.
- Dodo Payments: checkout for paid placements. Dodo acts as the merchant of record.
- Resend: account and notification emails.
- Stripe: only for founders who connect a key, to read revenue figures.
- FxTwitter and unavatar.io: public X follower counts and profile pictures.
Some of these providers store data outside India.
Children
The site isn't meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. Big changes will also be announced on the site.
